Each of us can do something every day to help the environment.  Recycle, take public transportation on ozone alert days, change your light bulbs for high efficiency, compact fluorescent bulbs, set your thermostat three degrees warmer in the summer, and three degrees lower in the winter.  Electronic devices in standby mode consume up to 15% of our national usage, so if you don't plan on using that VCR, shut it off and unplug it.  Consider buying newer, more energy efficient appliances.
